The Security Interests (Jersey) Law 2012 (the “Law”) is a significant reform of Jersey’s security law. The Law came fully into full force on 2 January 2014. From this date, all new security over intangible property must comply with the Law. The Law is influenced by the Personal Property Security Acts of Canada and New Zealand. The book comments in detail on the provisions of the Law. The book considers the nature of security interests and considers in detail the key concepts of the attachment and perfection of security interests, the priority of security interests, the enforcement of security interests and the registration of security interests.
